Officials of the Gambia Football Association marketing Committee have finalised round table negotiations with the country’s leading GSM service provider Gamcel for the sponsorship of the 2013 domestic football league.

A staggering four million dalasi (D4million) is been agreed for the period of one year to be injected in the country’s premier football league according to officials. The lucrative deal is meant to cover all categories of the 2013 League football.

It would be the first time for The Gambia to secure such a big money deal into football sponsorship and officials have described the partnership as a blessing in disguise. Gambian stakeholders over many years have cried loud over the need for a League sponsor.

Now that the deal is finally struck, the national division one league is commencing on the 19th January, 2013 and would be played in three mini stadia viz: Sere Kunda East, Brikama and Banjul.
